Collection: Jian Shui Gong-fu teapots
Tea luxury from Jian Shui. It's worth seeing just once and trusting
Traditional ceramics from Jian Shui County, located in the south of Yunnan Province. They are handmade on a pottery wheel from a mixture of Yunnan clays, decorated with carving and inlay or appliqué using clay of different colors. Special attention is given to the careful polishing of the finished product, resulting in the famous glossy shine and pleasant tactile quality of the items.
The Chinese describe the local clay as: hard as iron, pure as water, rich as jade, and resonant as a qin.
The perfect fit of elements and the abundance of fine craftsmanship make Jian Shui teapots works of pottery art. Unlike the porous Yixing and Qingzhou teapots, they absorb very little tea aroma and can serve as universal teapots.
