Black tea Gu Shu Shai Hong, 2023, 100g
Black tea Gu Shu Shai Hong, 2023, 100g
Premium red tea from old trees, sun-dried. Manufactured and pressed on order by Art of Tea.
The developed root system of old trees enriches the leaves with microelements, and the high-altitude collection area is characterized by ecological purity and a favorable climate for tea cultivation.
Shaihuns belong to a special category of red teas where the final drying of the tea leaves is done under the sun, not in drying ovens (stoves) as with "classic" Dianhongs. In such teas, the leaves have a characteristic fruity and aromatic scent, retaining more moisture and enzymes. Importantly, like sheng puerh, shaihuns have a high potential for further aging, enhancing roundness, honey notes, depth in taste, and smoothness in effect.
Aroma: honeyed, aromatic, with notes of berries and dried fruits.
Taste: robust, buckwheat-honeyed, soft, aromatic, with a juicy, dried fruit-berry aftertaste. A strong tea with great potential for further aging.
Effect: tonic, invigorating, warming.
Production: March 2023 (first harvest), pressed in summer 2023. High-altitude tea garden, Jinggu region (景谷), with trees over 100 years old. Pu'er District, Yunnan Province, China.
Brewing Instructions: Preheat your teaware. Rinse the tea with boiling water and let it breathe for a moment. For a better understanding of the subtleties of taste and aroma of this shaihun, we recommend using the gongfu brewing method. Use 5-6 grams of tea per 100 ml of water. Use boiling water and brew with short infusions starting at 6+ seconds according to taste, gradually increasing the brewing time with each subsequent infusion. The tea can withstand at least 5-6 infusions. Enjoy your tea session!
