Matcha Whisk (Chasen) for whisking powdered matcha tea.
To properly prepare delicious Japanese matcha tea, a bamboo whisk (chasen) is essential. It whisks the powdered tea to achieve the perfect froth without imparting any unwanted flavors or aromas. Handcrafted from a solid piece of white or black bamboo, this whisk features 100 prongs, unlike most models which have 64. This allows for quicker whisking, resulting in a tastier and thicker foam. Before each use, soak the whisk in warm water for 5 minutes. When the whisk absorbs water, it becomes more flexible and less prone to damage.

Recipe: Add half a teaspoon of matcha to a warmed bowl (chawan) and pour in 50 ml of water at 80°C. Whisk the tea with quick, gentle circular motions for 15+ seconds, until lumps disappear and a rich foam forms. The finished drink can be enjoyed hot or cold. After use, rinse and dry the whisk. A storage case is included with the whisk.
